Production Specialist:
As a Production Specialist, you will support the manufacturing of wooden home decor in our Mount Airy, NC Craftsman Shop and work with high degrees of professionalism and precision to ensure operations run smoothly and quotas are met. Your Role as a Production Specialist
LazerEdge produces high-quality, laser-cut wooden coasters, ornaments, magnets, cutting boards, and decorative wall hangings for a variety of markets. Within our Mount Airy Craftsman Shop, our production team cuts, sands, stains, finishes, and ships orders to customers around the entire United States. Members of our Production team drive the efficiency, quality, and precision of our manufacturing operations and ensure client satisfaction. As an Production Specialist, you will be working with a team to complete the following tasks:
1. Staining - this involves 3 Team Members working together to apply and wipe off stain to bring out the beauty of the wood grain.
2. Ribbon Tying and Hang Tags - this is an individual task tying ribbons and attaching packaging to our wood ornaments
3. Sanding - this is a team activity and involves a high-tech, top of the line automated sander.
4. Dusting - this is an individual task where you will use compressed air to dust off our wooden products after they have been sanded.
5. Corking - this is an individual task where you will apply adhesive cork to the back of our coasters.
6. Wall Hangers - you will apply a hanger to the back side of our wall hanging with the use of a drill, 2 screws, and metal sawtooth hanger.
7. Magnets - using a drill press, countersink and glue a magnet to be flush with the backside of each wood magnet.
8. Shrink Wrapping - this is the final process of the production team's responsibilities and is considered a skilled position. Using our top of the line shrink wrapper, you will be creating packaging that protects our products and allows them to stand out on the retail shelf.
9. Lazer Cleaning - our lazers need to be cleaned every week and this task involves precision cleaning and attention to detail.
10. General Cleaning - working in a shop, it is important we keep all work stations clean. Thus, we clean our work stations after each use and conduct a weekly deep clean.
Pay Rate: Starts at $15 and moves to $17 / hr once proficient in role. Pay increases from there yearly based on review / production ability
Schedule: 40hrs/week (7:00am - 4:00pm) with lunch from 11:30am - 12:30pm
Job Requirements

- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- High-school education
- A good attitude and loves what they do
- Understands that manufacturing means producing product as efficiency as possible
- We provide and require the use of protective masks when staining.
