Purpose:
The Production Shift Manager is responsible for directing production employees on their specified line(s) in the manufacturing of all products at Ellison Bakery in accordance with all policies and procedures.

Purpose:
The Production Shift Manager is responsible for directing production employees on their specified line(s) in the manufacturing of all products at Ellison Bakery in accordance with all policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct Pre-Shift meeting and stretches with your team
- Work with your Supervisor and/or Shift Lead to ensure that your line(s) are set up properly prior to starting production
- Ensure your team hits their goals daily in the categories of Safety, Quality, Case Count, 6S, change overs, and proper headcount
- Ensure that paperwork is completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner
- Ensure employees have all work areas cleaned and paperwork is completed from your team
- Ensure that product meets all quality specifications, to include; customer, internal and regulatory
- Partner with sanitation to ensure production equipment is cleaned and ready when needed, as well as assisting sanitation during change-overs to get production back up and ready for operations in a timely manner
- Work with maintenance on equipment repair and notify them when equipment goes down
- Establish and maintain an effective system of coaching and communication with team members
- Work with the Supervisor and/or Shift Lead to establish onboarding which includes; on-going training and cross training metrics
- Handle day to day disciplinary action for direct report production team members. Document these meetings and have effective notes in case there is an issue in the future
- Notify HR of all issues regarding sensitive content where they will take the lead to facilitate necessary follow up
- Ensure effective communication of any issues on your line(s), especially as it pertains to employee wellbeing and safety protocol
- Immediately report any and all food safety and quality problems to senior management
- Complete and facilitate mid-year and annual evaluations of all team members
- Work independently with your Supervisor and/or Shift Manger to ensure success of the business by managing people and processes
- Actively helps on production line to fill in for vacancies to ensure production metrics are met
- Collaborate with your Supervisor and/or Shift Lead and HR to appropriately staff and retain the team members
- Manage temporary staffing and evaluate temporary employees

Skills/Work Experience Needed:
- Associate's Degree or relevant equivalent experience required
- 5+ years working in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred
- 5+ years successfully supervising/managing people preferred
