Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a Product Management Intern for its Summer 2024 Intern Program.  

The Product Management Intern will report to, and take functional direction from, the Senior Lead Product Manager, and will operate in a hybrid capacity out of the Indianapolis, IN facility Monday-Friday.

Summer Interns at Peerless Pump are given opportunities to participate in department projects with the goal to help expand their technical education and aid in completion of projects.  At the end of the term, Interns will prepare a project status report to present to senior management within the company to explain impact of their project and receive direct feedback on performance.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about?

The role of the Product Management Intern is to create tools for pricing management of standard and custom products.  Upon creating, tools will be utilized and customer facing product tools will be updated.  This role will communicate and collaborate with inside business partners and direct suppliers while adhering to corporate policy and procedure. 

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Creation of Bills of Materials (BOM) or parts list for products to be reviewed.
• Creation of an Excel tool utilizing Peerless Express (PX) databases to do pricing reviews.
• Export of pricing and lead time information out of SAP and into the Excel tool.
• Communicate with our direct suppliers for pricing and delivery either directly or through the purchasing group.
• Provide documentation to Product Management pertaining to pricing, delivery schedule, and preliminary design information.
• Support continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies, and eliminate errors in the order winning process.
• Support continuous improvement, in order to achieve deliverables and maximize profit
• Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with Grundfos Values and our internal standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost)
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Complete special projects as assigned and perform other duties as required   

Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations

This position reports to the Product Manager and serves as a member of the Product Management team.  Provides pricing support to the applications engineering team.  Collaborates with the product engineering team through Peerless Express.   

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Working towards a four year degree in engineering, engineering technology, or business from an accredited university *incoming 3rd or 4th year preferred
• Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
• Person must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Competencies

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written with attention to detail
• Working knowledge with Microsoft Office™ (Excel®, Word®, Power Point®, Outlook etc.)
• Desire to develop an advanced understanding of pumps, construction, hydraulics, and application of rotating equipment
• Desire to develop SAP and/or CRM systems skillsets *experience is a plus
• Has high sense of urgency to meet or exceed customer expectations, and achieve daily commitments
