Job Description
A Launch Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful launch of a product or service. To perform this role effectively, a Launch Manager must have a combination of technical, project management, communication, and leadership skills. Some of the key skills required for a Launch Manager are project management, technical knowledge, communication, leadership, problem solving, time management, strong attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the planning and execution of new Product Launches.
- Develop and maintain launch timelines and budgets.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact launch timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of launch activities.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Develop launch plans and strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinating with warehouse, shipping, and logistics vendors to ensure inventory arrives at distribution centers and retail stores before the launch.
- Tracking marketing’s development of training materials to help retail partners train their in-store employees on the new product’s specs and benefits.
- Monitoring the creation of all marketing and advertising campaigns to ensure they are on track to be released on time to promote the launch.
- Ensure that all launch activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory and quality standards, including ISO and FDA regulations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to address any compliance issues that arise during the launch process.
- Develop and maintain launch metrics and KPIs.
- Provide regular status updates on launch activities to senior management.
- Studying the outcomes of each launch to learn what parts of the process work and where the process needs improving.
- Speaking with company stakeholders to discover which aspects of the launch plans work for them and which, if any, create challenges for their team’s internal processes.
- Learning industry best practices for successful Product Launches and incorporating them into future company launch.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT/ WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of [insert number] years of experience in launch management or project management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
