This position is a grade 12 with a minimum of $37,875 and a mid-point of $50,500. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.FLSA Status:

Job Summary:
An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty by coordinating production and print operations for the print shop/copy center as a unit of the Marketing & Communications Department, while helping to ensure internal and external customer expectations and needs for high-quality printing, duplicating, and related services are met. Work is distinguished by the ability to provide backup support for the manager of production and print services and advisory input for print shop/copy center operations, services, and equipment. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Associate Degree required.
- Two years of experience in digital printing, high-speed duplicating, and finishing/bindery services. Network printing experience desired.
- One to two years of experience in pre-press and photocopier troubleshooting and problem solving, with moderate working mechanical aptitude.
- Considerable skill in the use of Adobe Creative Suite - including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
- Moderate to considerable skill in graphic design.
- Moderate to considerable skill in the use of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access.
- Working skill in the use of databases, spreadsheets, and billing coordination.
- Working skill in the use of both Macintosh and Windows operating systems and applicable software and peripheral equipment.
- Ability to adapt to changing technology and learn new software programs and other systems.
- Considerable organizational and oral/written communication skills.
- Working skill with variable data print preparation and production.
- Moderate analytical and organizational ability
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate and provide print shop/copy center operations and services.
- Review daily workload, ensure priority, distribution, completion, delivery, and logging of print, duplication, and finishing jobs, which may include assigning work to others, while maintaining quality and adherence to deadlines.
- Format, pre-flight and prepare graphic and other files for print/duplication and finishing, while maintaining the integrity of content, art, design, college brand, and sensitive and confidential information.
- Run digital presses, copiers, and other equipment (e.g., banner printer, laminator, folder, cutter, coil binder, padder, etc.) in accordance with any/all safety procedures/protocols to complete jobs according to specifications and perform quality control checks during and after production.
- Maintain a safe and clean print shop environment and equipment by performing routine maintenance/basic cleaning, troubleshooting and resolving equipment/system problems, and/or coordinating with internal departments and vendors as needed. Serve as college expert for Print Shop/Copy Center-managed digital presses.
- Monitor copyright and brand standard compliance; ensure completed work meets college brand standards.
- Monitor and maintain print supply inventories, ensuring vital supplies are stocked at all times.
- Process monthly billing for print and related work.
- Provide advisory input related to equipment needs and production operations; produce and maintain print shop procedure manuals.
- Provide backup to manager of production and print services position.
- Coordinate leased copier and paper management for the college.
- Serve as college expert for Print Shop/Copy Center-managed copiers.
- Act as liaison with vendors/service providers regarding institutional copier equipment.
- Organize, monitor, and maintain paper inventory for the college, including receiving and checking incoming shipments against orders, and delivering paper orders to departments for assigned buildings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve copier issues, including network and management system issues; coordinate with internal departments and vendors as needed.
- Manage copier software system setup and maintenance in relation to overall system, user/database information, and billing.
- Process billing for duplicating, copier usage, and paper orders; ensure funds for pay-per-use copiers are collected, deposited, and recorded in accordance with guidelines.
- Coordinate support for copier key operators; train employees on copier operations as needed.
- Marketing & Communications Project Support and Coordination
- Coordinate and prepare variable data information as needed, including bar coding, to format and create print-ready files. Serve as variable data printing expert for the college.
- Assist in the coordination of work processed through marketing project management software; backup manager of production and print services in relation to job scheduling and system/user management.
- Collaborate with creative team as needed regarding project specifications (e.g., colors, dimensions, print setup, paper stock, etc.) for print services.
- Perform final quality review of projects created by marketing team as they relate to print services (copy/layout, production art) before production.
- Support graphic design work as needed - create/update layouts/designs, following project management system workflow for client review/approval prior to finalizing for production.
