Job Summary:
The Production Operator will process Operator: Operates equipment used to manufacture products.
Weighs, measures, and checks raw materials to ensure that batches manufactured contain proper ingredients in proper quantities.
Maintains inventory records of raw materials used in batch manufacturing.
Keeps accurate and up-to-date batch records and data sheets on batches in process.
Performs in-process tests (such as hardness, weight, variation, pH, and moisture content) to ensure that batches meet specifications.
The Production Operator will recognize equipment and product problems, notify the supervisor, and/or troubleshoot errors in order to achieve optimum production levels.
Candidates for this position must be able to follow written Standard Operating Procedures and verbal instructions in order to fabricate, inspect, and package chemical-based products.
Good organizational skills and relevant computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office) are required for maintaining production records.
The ability to safely handle lab equipment/tools and chemicals is required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Manual assembly, batch processing, and packaging of chemical products
Organize materials and work areas
Suggest items for the “Continuous Improvement” initiative, continuously work to drive touch time out of production.
Record keeping and data sheets
Fabrication, inspecting, and packaging of chemical-based products
Able to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or High School diploma/GED with 2 or more years of experience in a batch processing production environment.
Chemical or Biochemical experience is a plus.
Self-motivated, dependable, and have excellent communication skills.
Good manual dexterity, meticulous attention to detail, and an interest/ability to quickly learn new work operations
Prior Assembly or Lean manufacturing experience is a plus
