Production Operator

Freeman Manufacturing & Supply Company is a 120-year-old company that distributes & manufactures material supplies (specialty woods, waxes, and plastics) that our customers use to create models, molds, patterns, cutting dies, and tools. Headquartered in Avon, OH, we have branches throughout the US and Canada, serving a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, foundry, packaging, medical, dental, jewelry and consumer products.

$200 signing bonus (must complete one payroll cycle) + $300 per month for 6 months

Hours of Work :5:00AM - 3:30PM ---- Monday through Thursday

Role & Accountability:

• The work entails the operation of light manufacturing equipment/tools, along with cutting, general assembly, packing and inspection.
• Standard work and standard product quality are established for all jobs.
• Work instructions are provided in the form of standard work that includes detail instructions, process flow, material flow, information flow and established cycle times.
• Team members are trained and can further develop their skills through cross-training in other departments and in-house learning.
• Performance is measured against daily production targets and product quality standards.

Manufacturing Departments:

We operate 8 departments in manufacturing the below are the three areas we are hiring for:

Extrusion – extruding wax, cutting, packing.

Job tasks include:

Extruding wax, cutting, and packing.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Position may require safety glasses and cut resistant gloves.

Position requires EE to be standing for long periods of time.

Repro – batching & canning polyurethane products - we are hiring for this position.

Job tasks include:

Batching and canning of polyurethane products.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Position requires use of a respirator during specific job duties.

Position requires EE to be standing for long periods of time.

Sheetwax – rolling, gluing, cutting, packing - we are hiring for this position.

Job tasks include:

Rolling, glueing, cutting, and packing wax.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Position requires use of a waterproof apron and boots.

Position may require safety glasses and dust mask for certain tasks.

Position requires EE to be standing for long periods of time.

Performance Criteria:

We take an objective approach to evaluations by quantifying work performance. We conduct annual performance appraisals, along with a detailed individual development plan (IDP). We also conduct a formal mid-year review to assess progress. In addition to productivity and product quality, we also recognize other aspects of work, which are outlined below with their corresponding value.

Work Conditions:

Work Environment – clean environment, basic PPE use, air conditioning for some jobs

Physical Demands – light work, no heavy lifting, no high repetitive motion

Education and Experience:

High school diploma required

Experience in a plant production environment preferred
