Production Operator

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Production Operator in our Crystal Production facility located in Hillsborough, NJ. This role will support manufacturing objectives and goals through various manufacturing techniques to produce Optical Crystal materials. Standard schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Responsibilities include:

• Operate and maintain production-worthy Bench Top Lapping and Polishing equipment for Fabricating qualification samples crystals and finished goods
• Process specialized finished goods requested by customers
• Provide Engineering samples to analyze the crystal-melt additions via the Laser Test Setup system, other Lab Equipment results, and exterior company testing
• Follow Process Procedure Documentation and Process Travelers to meet precise final material fabrication target thicknesses
• Fabrication up to but not limited to:
• Dicing
• Precision Lapping and Polishing
• Inspection and testing
• Dimensional Measurements
• Shipping of materials and special fabrication
• Basic equipment maintenance and record-keeping

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 6 months experience working in a high-volume production environment
• Basic computer, reading and math skills (add, subtract, multiply ,divide)
• Some experience working with fixtures, hand tools, and microscopes
• Good manual dexterity
• Able to wear plastic/latex gloves or finger cots
• Must wear PPE for the specific work tasks
• Ability to read engineering drawings and process procedures
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 12 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift and occasionally up to 45 pounds.

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
