Production Technician

$20 - $30 per hour based on qualifications, with PTO and eligible benefits
AIS is seeking a highly motivated individual who is looking to join a team of passionate aerospace professionals and will support operations to ensure timely response to all customer orders.
If you are a hands-on person who likes to see a project through from start to finish, you will like this position. You must be a self-starter, coachable, and be able to manage work activities and projects with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly work of commercial aircraft component parts using a variety of tools and equipment using engineering drawings. This
includes drilling, bonding, sanding, mechanical fasteners, etc.
- Assist in pulling and staging parts as required for work orders
- Collaborate with and support, production and quality departments on assigned daily activities
- Support the engineering, manufacturing and shipping teams as needed
- Responsible for maintaining documentation and traceability
- Monitor and maintain quality of production work
- Accurately perform system transactions in ERP system
- Assist in performing cycle counting and accurately recording counts
- Assist in assembly tools and fixtures when required
Other Duties and Opportunities:
- Assist Engineering with prototype projects
- Evaluate and assist in resolving assembly issues
- Improve workflow of activities and materials in support of quick turn time to customers
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and safe
Basic Qualification:
- Assembly of products in a manufacturing/shop environment required (prefer minimum 3-years’ experience in an aviation shop
but will also consider relevant experience within an automotive shop)
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English written technical documentation
- Interpret blueprints or product drawings, specification sheets and demonstrate knowledge of dimensional tolerances
- Warehouse or inventory control related experience preferred
- Use hand tools or machines to assemble parts and measuring tools to monitor work performance to set standards
- Experience working with assembly of thermoformed or injection molded plastic parts preferred, but not required
Other:
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
