ABOUT DOT AMERICA, INC.: DOT America is located in Columbia City, Indiana. It is the United States equivalent of its parent company DOT GmbH (www.dot-coating.de). DOT GmbH is currently the European leader in medical device coating technologies, employing approximately 500 team members in Rostock, Germany. DOT specializes in physical vapor deposition, plasma spray, blasting, polishing, anodizing, etching, calcium phosphate deposition, laser marking, amongst other surface treatments and coatings.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Production will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and sustainability of DOT America’s engineering, production, and logistics systems to comply with applicable customer needs and FDA, ISO13485, and ISO14971 regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Reporting to the President/CEO, participates as a core member of the DOT America, Inc. leadership team.

· Utilizing the DOT GmbH production systems and associated infrastructure a template, the Director of Production is accountable for the overall design, development, implementation, operation, sustainability, and continuous improvement of the DOT America engineering and operations systems.

· Manages multiple company functions, including the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of the engineering, production, and logistics teams. Responsible for applicable expense budgets in these areas of the business.

· Teams with executive management, quality, and engineering resources to develop plant and process lay-outs accounting for safety, production efficiency, quality, and other short and long term business objectives.

· Critical role in the specification, design, purchase, installation and validation of utility and proprietary processing technologies.

· Participates in the efforts to solicit bidding, select, and manage consultants and contractors to assist in the realization of the overall facility plan.

· Individually or through appropriate staff, assists in the preparation of quality system documents including risk management, validations, process specifications, standard operating procedures, and work instructions as required.

· Partners with customers to determine applicable processing and subsequent costing/pricing to meet requirements. Teams with the executive management, quality, and sales personnel, to address customer service issues and as applicable solicits new business.

· Ultimately, the Director of Production is responsible for the safety, quality, and efficiency of DOT America’s production, and logistics operations.

· Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. · EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university or equivalent with approximately 5 years of relevant experience leading engineering or production functions in the medical device industry is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with secondary medical device processing technologies, such as cleaning, blasting, polishing, physical vapor deposition, plasma spraying, and anodizing is additionally preferred.

· COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in software applications, including but not limited to MS office, statistical program applications, CAD, and ERP applications.

· LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, specifications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.

· MATHEMATICAL and REASONING SKILLS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and repeatability, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, statistical inference, and sampling theory.

· PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; utilize hands to hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

· WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The Team Member may need to work safely with toxic, acidic, and caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

TRAVEL: The position may require minor domestic and international travel.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary and bonus potential shall be commensurate with education and experience. DOT America offers a comprehensive benefit plan including employer supported health insurance, dental, and retirement.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
