Job Description:
The Operations Manager, who is a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) is responsible for overseeing daily production within the manufacturing plant with a focus on driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and customer service. The Operations Manager is accountable for employee daily work assignments, policy implementation, and ensuring the effectiveness of production methods, equipment, and working conditions across all shifts. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
- Provides leadership to supervisors and employees, ensuring they have the necessary tools for safe and efficient job performance.
- Oversees all production and packaging activities in the manufacturing facility.
- Drives a culture of high performance and accountability and maintains a constructive and mutually respectful relationship with all employees, including setting and delivering key performance metrics for the plant.
- Ensures product quality meets specifications and adheres to established quality systems, processes, and procedures.
- Establishes and implements cost reduction, quality assurance, and production improvements.
- Encourages employees to use problem solving and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and resolve production issues promptly.
- Monitors, measures, and reports on production related performance.
- Ensures employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs to include safety, quality, and production.
- Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules to attain operational objectives.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Previous food or beverage manufacturing management experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, or process improvement roles including managing teams of people.
- Strong knowledge of FDA, GMP, and HACCP regulations and principles.
- Preferred experience in Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, to support plant operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications.
