Task Force Tips team members are driven to manufacture solutions that help to save lives and protect property. We are back-filling a key team member role after the existing manager chose to take on a new internal development opportunity. The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring all assembly and shipping production metrics are met, managing staffing levels, ensuring adequate planning for overtime and vacation needs, and overall continuous improvement of the assembly and shipping teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages daily meetings and tactically supports day-to-day needs for assembly and shipping.
- Works with planning and materials team to ensure correct parts are supplied to cells to meet daily production goals.
- Liaisons with sales, supply chain and Production Managers as required to make decisions on expedites and other circumstances that may necessitate a change in schedule.
- Communicates with planning and materials team on any part shortages due to inventory losses, quality defects, or other unforeseen challenges.
- Works with Manufacturing Engineering Team and Quality Team to ensure products are assembled and tested correctly, and quality issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Directly responsible for the P&L of assembly and shipping teams and ensuring daily/weekly/monthly revenue and OTD metrics are met.
- Conducts training sessions for new hires on all essential functions.
- Supports the implementation of TFT’s Kanban and Material Flow projects as needed.
- Continually develops their team and fosters an environment that supports new ideas and operator led improvements.
- Performs related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of two years Production/Operations Front Line leadership.
- Ability to analyze inventory, sales, and other data to make long-range forecasts of staffing requirements.
- Must have (or be quickly willing to learn) basic to advanced excel skills such V-lookup, Pivot Tables, Power-Query, etc.
- Ability to promote harmonious working relationships with teammates and solve conflicts in a positive manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with other company personnel and supplier representatives, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
- Be detail oriented, professional, responsive, resourceful, flexible and well-organized. Must be self-motivated with superior time management.
- Work extended hours as is called for by company needs. Very limited travel as necessary.

Duties and responsibilities for this role entail performing a wide range of tasks that involve strong time management and prioritization skills to ensure goals are met in the Assembly and Shipping Departments. Duties and responsibilities also include substantial contribution to the company’s Strategic Plan, with decisions impacting other departments and overall company profits by working with shop procedural manuals, exercising independent judgment in selecting and interpreting precedents, major project proposals, and adapting procedures to fit conditions.
Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment. Exposed to noise and heavy machinery normally associated with manufacturing operations, where safety precautions must be always followed to avoid injury to self and others. Duties involve close vision and computer use, sitting for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds.
