$62,000/yr. - $65,000/yr. – Full time Jr./Entry Level
POSITION SUMMARY
Production Engineer is responsible for production processes, including quality control, from concept development through to production implementation and continuous improvement as well as on-going production support. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. This position will be responsible for any of these production processes: HTR and Blower Assembly, Cooling Module Assembly, Heat pump Module, Rear HVAC, Fermapor, Inner COND Torch & helium leak tester.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Focuses on efficiency improvement and management activity.
- Responsible for customer quality issues follow-up and improvement process.
- Responsible for scrap improvement and management activity. Analyzes scrap status and finds solution for improvement.
- Responsible for Short-Term facilities load analysis and reducing facilities load
- Responsible for Establishing and managing overhead budgets about improving facilities
- Participates in continuous improvement activities as they relate to machinery and tolling issues.
- Generates and maintains line documentation including Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, Control Plans, Workmanship Standards and check sheets for line members and technicians.
- Generates machinery and tooling specifications for new and existing projects.
- Responsible for conducting machinery run-off/buy-offs for purchased machinery and tooling. Duties include assuring conformance to specification, evaluating cycle time, assessing safety and ergonomics and conducting process capability studies (Ppk, Cpk) prior to release to production.
- Supports maintenance department activities for equipment and tooling (i.e. PM schedules, spare part lists, etc.).
- Prepares training materials (manual) and conducts the training as required.
- Participates in Cross Functional Team (CFT) meetings and support team objectives (i.e. layouts, APQP activities, continuous improvement opportunities etc.)
- Participates in all required training. And train team members and technicians to level up their skill, Quality mind set and related to improve production status.
- Supports and ensures compliance with Company's policy.
- Supports all manufacturing operations as designated, including off shifts.
- Support and ensures compliance with current quality and environmental systems.
- Supports setting up production lines for new vehicle(s) model(s) and improving issue
- Other duties, missions, and/or projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's of science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university program.
- At least 1 internship or engineering design project experience required.
- CAD designing of a part and sub parts assembly skills such as AutoCAD
- Machining skills and knowledge such as mills, lathes, preferred.
- Ability to interpret drawings and design prototypes.
- Knowledge in dynamics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, system design, HVAC, machine design and manufacturing design-usually obtained through experience or course work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Plant and office work environment.
- Plant work environment with seasonal fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter)
- Exposure to noise and bright lights.
- Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, gloves when on the production floor or customer sites.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Fulltime, Dayshift;
- Overtime work may be required during the workweek or on a weekend including working 2nd or 3rd shift as needed.
