SUMMARY: Position supports the demands and needs of the customer or product in a production setting.
WAGE TYPE: Hourly; FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates conventional and CNC machines, lathes & mills.
- Builds and assembles product from prints, written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Inspects parts in process and monitors machine operation reporting any needed repairs or adjustments.
- Assists the Quality Assurance Inspector in defining problem solving issues for reject reports.
- Set up machines as needed.
- Use hand and power tools of special equipment to produce the required product.
- Can adjust and operate equipment to reach maximum production rates.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining efficient workstations.
- May work in various departments dependent on customer needs.
- Assists with any safety needs.

- Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in manufacturing.
Other Skills:
- Ability to meet production requirements and retain part quality.
- Ability to read, understand and follow procedures to inspect parts.
- Ability to use measuring instruments.
- Ability to use small hand or power tools.
- Ability to work safely, use good judgment and work well individually or with others.
Communication Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Must be able to interpret documents such as procedures and work instructions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively over the telephone, via e-mail or in person.
Physical Requirements:
- Heavy work. Ability to move or lift objects weighing 50-75 pounds several times per hour.
- Ability to remain on feet for an eight-hour period. Standing and walking is the dominant activity.
- Essential functions cannot be performed while sitting.
- Two hands required to push, pull and position objects into place.
- Adequate use and control of fingers required for writing, entering data and lifting work objects.
- Visual ability to inspect work performed while operating machines.
- Must have adequate use of arms and reach above shoulders.
- Stooping, crouching, kneeling, bending on the job.
Work Environment:
- Climate controlled.
- Exposure to moving parts, equipment, etc. in various locations of the department.
- Employee must be alert to all facets of safety.
- Eye and foot protection required at all times.
- Noise exposure; may be required to wear hearing protection.
