Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Product Material Compliance Engineer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. A member in this role works cross-functionally at all levels of the organization to interpret the regulatory requirements and support Woodward's journey in the space of Product Material Compliance including but not limited to REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, Prop 65, and WEEE. This role requires a low level of supervision, working mostly independently.
Expectations of this role include providing a strong understanding of and familiarity with all Material Compliance regulations affecting Woodward products and market areas. In collaboration with the PMC Team, providing interpretations of these regulations for the appropriate incorporation into Woodward business and engineering practices to ensure the necessary compliance of Woodward product content, production processes, and repair / overhaul operations.
What You Will Be Doing
- Provides guidance on supplier Material Compliance declarations with respect to their acceptability, validity, and auditability.
- Assesses the current tools and processes, including any third-party support, provided for Material Compliance against regulatory requirements and provides recommendations for improvements.
- Formulates standard work and strategic implementation of processes for Product Material Compliance consistent with Woodward PMC platforms and business systems.
- Coordinates with Business Units to ensure existence of contractual coverage for incoming "non-standard" customer Material Compliance requests.
- Assesses the language and context of customer requests against cited material regulations to assure continuity with and correct interpretation of those requests.
- Evaluates new and updated customer and supplier Material Compliance contract terms and conditions against the appropriate directives and regulations, and recommends to Business Units, Global Supply Chain, and Contracts a Woodward accept / reject position, including suggested corrections/modifications where applicable.
- Interfaces with multifunctional teams consisting of individuals from product design, validation testing, manufacturing, supply chain, and product engineering, acting as a consultant and reviewer in matters of enterprise compliance.
- Analyzes new and proposed requirements from geographical, national, and local regulatory bodies to determine how they could impact products. Makes recommendations for any process changes to accommodate requirements of any new implemented regulations.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelors degree in relevant field
- 10 years of experience in related field
- Participation in industry/standards development
