About the Role
As a Summer Intern, you will be primarily responsible for enhancing the user experience of our material user database by creating a more user-friendly interface. Additionally, you will be entrusted with ensuring the accuracy of data within the production program by thoroughly reviewing and cross-referencing information. A key aspect of this role will involve liaising with different divisions within the company to acquire missing or updated information, making effective communication skills essential.
Your Responsibilities
•Maintain and update the material user database by regularly reviewing and verifying the accuracy of information.
•Improve the user-friendliness of the database interface by implementing design changes and suggesting new features.
•Collaborate with relevant divisions (plants) within the company to acquire missing or updated information for the database.
•Perform data entry functions, ensuring that recorded information is complete, accurate, and up to date.
•Conduct regular quality checks on the production program to identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors.
•Collaborate with the Engineering Department to ensure that engineering discipline standards are applied and maintained within the database.
•Assist in creating documentation and training materials to support the usage of the material user database.
Who we are looking for
•Currently pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field, with a focus on materials or mechanical engineering preferred.
•Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
•Knowledge of database management systems and experience in maintaining and updating databases.
•Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•A team player with a proactive approach, capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Your preferred qualifications
•High School Diploma
•Currently Attending a College or University, engineering discipline preferred
•Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
