WHO YOU ARE
The Product Engineering Specialist is responsible for executing and supporting various engineering processes and activities related to the management of the product definition including part structures, documentation, and master data throughout the entire Product Lifecycle. This position ensures that product data and documentation releases and changes follow proper processes, procedures and polices set forth by the Product Engineering Leadership.
WHERE YOU WILL WORK
At Ocala, Florida manufacturing and distribution center. The position is Hybrid. Working remote Monday and Friday, and onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Perform Product Engineering tasks and activities related to New Product Development (New Item creation, BOM setup and transformation, Item Master Data collection, clerical review of documentation throughout the NPD Process.
· Maintain a high standard of data accuracy and integrity through all aspects of the NPD / Release process.
· Work closely with the core NPD team on the execution of assigned NPD projects activities and deliverables.
· Actively participate in NPD Project Gate Reviews and various weekly Project Status meetings
· Drive Master Data Collection in the ERP system, ensure data alignment between PLM and ERP systems.
· Perform assigned Engineering Change Management tasks for released items including review of Problem Reports, implementation of Change Requests and execution of Change Notices.
· Work with various Enterprise functions on the proper implementation of approved Change Requests.
· Participate in training the Organization on change Management tools, guidelines, and SOPs.
· Support future PLM /ERP implementations, data migrations and data accuracy improvement projects as required.
· Leverage internal / external best practices to identify continuous efficiency improvement opportunities for Product Engineering and Configuration Management.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements
· Associates Degree or higher in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field
Relevant Work Experience
· 1-5 years in consumer product configuration management or new product introduction
· 1-5 years of Item Master Data management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
· 1+ years experience with PLM / ERP or other engineering and enterprise software
Competencies
· Working knowledge of Enterprise Systems such as Oracle, SAP, INFOR.
· Working knowledge of PLM systems, PTC Windchill, Teamcenter etc.
· Knowledge of various engineering disciplines and principles
· Familiarity with CAD applications, preferably CREO and SolidWorks, other 3D modeling software is helpful.
· Ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
· Ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team
· Ability to maintain a consistently high level of attention to detail
· Ability to develop, sponsor, or support the introduction of new and improved methods, products, procedures, or technologies
· Ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies
· Ability to develop and present new ideas and look beyond the standard solution
· Ability to find a solution or to deal proactively with work-related problems
· Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information
Certificates/Licensure
· CMII Certification preferred.
Travel Requirements
· Primarily limited to local and domestic travel
