Position Description:
Vehicle Crash Safety Attribute Supervisor / Engineer will be responsible for the development of body structure, chassis, energy system, and occupant restraint systems and sub-systems using CAE simulation or physical test. The engineer will use analysis tools to guide component and system design through optimization to meet FMVSS, IIHS, and other regulatory requirements and public domain targets. The engineer will also be responsible for the development of new analytical and physical verification procedures to reduce physical testing and improve CAE model and/or test accuracy. The engineer should have a mature understanding of the principles related to vehicle component and occupant kinematics in various vehicle crash test modes.
Skills Required:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering required. MS in Engineering or Management a plus. Program Management or D&R experience a plus. Strong leadership skills, excellent organization skills, effective communications, and ability to prioritize.
Skills Preferred:
- Understanding of FMVSS, IIHS, and other market requirements. Strong knowledge of dummy types and injury criteria in global markets. Good understanding of the Crash Safety development process and what it takes to deliver a vehicle program.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 20 years of Vehicle Crash Safety experience in the Automotive field.
Education Required:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering required.
Education Preferred:
- MS in Engineering or Management preferred.
