Based in the Tribeca neighborhood of NYC, Stateless Fashion Design & Consulting is a team of fashion design, branding, and production management experts. Stateless is outsourced by apparel brands around the world and across categories, for the design, development, and production of their apparel lines.

Job Description:
- Support design and Product Development from first proto sample to pre-production sample with Domestic and Overseas factories
- Have a thorough understanding of the development process from start to finish
- Work through designs with the Stateless Team and Client/Brand to ensure everyone is aligned with the vision of the brand
- Work with Project Managers and Senior Product Developers for deliverables to ensure the timelines are met
- Flat sketch wovens and knits in adobe
- Build bill of materials
- Make sewing call-out sheets in adobe
Research & Development
- Knowledge of fabric and trim sourcing: fibers, content, fabric specifications, fabric science knowledge that are appropriate per product (knits/wovens, stretch fabrics, dyeing, finishing etc.)
- Maintain existing fabric libraries
- Maintain Internal Material Database Chart
- Review sourced fabrics/trims with internal team to ensure we are aligned on materials prior to client review
- Help build development cost budget (ex: pattern costs, sample fees, trim costs, etc.)
Sample Development
- Communicate with all vendors throughout development
- Pick up and drop off materials from vendors and factories weekly in the NYC Garment District
- Work with Senior Product Developer to help ensure BOM’s are completely accurate
- Track samples and organize them in the correct place throughout development process
- Attend fittings in our office as needed
- Communicate and consult with clients as needed
- Stays informed of new development technologies and brings any new technological developments to Stateless leaders' attention
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of the apparel design and development process
- Ability to use adobe for flat sketching
- Remote work and in-person fittings and meetings as needed
- Ability and confidence to client-face
- Must be able to be in-person in NYC office for fittings
- Must be EXTREMELY detail oriented
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in domestic, Made in USA, Product Development across categories (required)
- Bachelor's or relevant certificate
- Strong knowledge of fabric and garment construction
- Fabric sourcing with vendors based in the US and abroad with lower MOQ’s - Ability to work independently and with a team to meet multiple deadlines - Ability to write emails professionally
- Corporate fashion experience (preferred)
