POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Category Manager will be responsible for supporting the growth and development of RealTruck’s accessories business by managing their category new product pipeline to drive profitable growth across the portfolio. This role will also be responsible for product/category segmentation and positioning, defining the competitive landscape, supporting the development of plan-to-sell strategies, and managing the product lifecycle roadmap. This role will create business plans to align departments and achieve category objectives; leverage consumer insights to identify new business opportunities and develop new products; lead category initiatives that deliver profitable growth; manage the product portfolio’s productivity; partner with sales and marketing to implement successful product launches across all channels. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders in engineering, manufacturing and sourcing to ensure product development success; manage product specific cost control initiatives.
CORE FUNCTIONS
· Provide Product Category management by executing the category business plan and acquiring buy-in from key stakeholders.
· Provide input regarding in-market performance and suggest action items to leadership to drive growth, including identifying gaps and needed updates in the product offering.
· Manage new product development projects from business case to launch.
· Assist in leveraging market analysis and work with research to identify consumer trends and insights related to product.
· Support the successful attainment of EBITDA targets, financial goals and business objectives.
· Manage product line lifecycle by identifying existing products to replace/discontinue with new products.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of product development and related merchandising experience required.
- Experience working with multi-channel and multi-tiered distribution business models preferred.
- Product lifecycle management experience, particularly product launch and channel inventory management, is required.
- Track record of successfully leading projects that require partnership and alignment with cross-functional teams is required.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Ability to offer a fresh perspective from a deep understanding of consumer insights and how they relate to product assortments.
- Skilled in Microsoft office, including Excel and project management solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present to senior level management.
- Adept at identifying new trends and opportunities, evaluating competition, and translating findings into executable consumer product plans.
Travel
- Occasional travel will be required; 15-20%.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervisor: Schedules, oversees, and reviews the work of direct reports.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Visual Acuity
· The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions
· This position primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
