Job Description:
The Category Management Intern is responsible for supporting the analysis and implementation of new products into our retail locations in categories such as beverages. packaged goods and services, general merchandise, and tobacco.
This individual assists in category projects and needs, ultimately impacting the overall success of the team. In addition to departmental support, the intern contributes to a specific Intern Group Project to gain company-wide perspective and develop a solution to enhance the business.

- Support the designated departments' specific project needs.
- Actively contribute to day-to-day functions within the department role.
- Identifies and executes individual projects as requested by department leadership.
- Provides support with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Completes short-term store training designed to gain experience and perspective in retail store operations.
- Communicates with field personnel and Category Management to execute promotions, track changes, and exchange pertinent information and ideas.
- Coordinates product information (including retail, cost, rebates, planograms, etc.) to communicate a consistent message to customers and stores from the appropriate category.
- Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
- Evaluates performance to identify opportunities for improvement and introduction to new products and services. Conducts research and evaluation of industry trends, consumer dynamics, and internal sales data.
- Collaborates with other intern group team members to create and develop a business plan for a specific company wide initiative determined by senior leaders.
- Utilizes internal resources and project sponsors to obtain strategic insight and gain buy-in from internal stakeholders.
- Prepares a business presentation to showcase to senior management at the conclusion of the internship.
