Product and Process Planning Specialist

Product and Process Planning Specialist:

• Performs Process Planning functions in the Technology Body in White from concept planning until the end of model production according to the PEP and model specific Syncro Plan.
• Works with the module and planning team on the development of Product and Process Concepts for Plant Spartanburg Technology Body in White.
• Reviews the product from joining, geometric, corrosion and surface quality perspectives by supporting module activities through the review of data freeze.
• Works with the TP-2 team and Procurement to develop the KEL Strategy.
• Drives feasibility studies for Body in White based on clearly defined standards.
• Brings the experiences from the plant into the module activities via Lessons Learned from successor projects.
• Actively supports the methods personnel in the FMK process for their parts area.
• Escalates design or process concept issues that do not support plant requirements (PQM or LOP).
• Develops Coordinated Clamp Plan Concept for Single Part and Assemblies.
• Integrates the Quality Concept into the Process Planning for Body in White.
• Performs manufacturability studies (Fertigungstechnische Begutachtung) of all parts and assembly processes.
• Assists the TP-Team in the development of specifications for bids.
• Acquires a detailed knowledge of the supplier contract. Reviews supplier proposals.
• Reviews supplier quality planning (ex. ASP, Measurement Plan, etc.) Highlights issues from Virtual Builds. Reviews RobCAD simulations and design.
• Reviews conveyor interfaces to process areas. Steering of design reviews. Monitors prototype builds and escalates problems.
• Manages the site preparation activities leading up to installation.
• Monitors the status of tooling and assembly equipment development by the suppliers.
• Assumes the lead role for the installation and launch activities in Plant 10 for Technology Body in White.
• Verifies that all processes meet ergonomic environmental and safety requirements.
• Manages launch activities with-in part area.
• Manages process start-up, de-bug and optimization activities.
• Assures Process Capability is achieved.
• Assures full volume is achieved. Coordinates process buy-off from TP-2x and suppliers.
• Implements series product changes including facelifts or package changes.
• Performs continuous improvement activities for quality, volume and ergonomics.
• Resolves series Product and part quality issues.
• Maintains process documentation according to work instructions.
• Provides feedback on problem issues for Lessons Learned.
• Works with the area quality personnel on investigations and corrective actions.
• Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
• Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

• BS degree in engineering (Industrial Engineering preferred) or the
  equivalent of 4 years experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  (automotive preferred) including 3 years of project management
  experience.
• 3+ years experience using process and product planning skills (prefer
  automotive Body Shop planning).
• 3+ years knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• 3+ years leadership, project management and communication skills.
• 3+ years business administration skills such as planning, organizing,
  budgeting, etc.
• 3+ years Microsoft Office applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  Outlook).
• 1+ years knowledge of CAx applications (CATIA, Microstation preferred).
• 1+ years knowledge of BMW systems preferred - such as DZA, PCA, TEREG,
  SAP, Process Designer.
• German language skills preferred.
