Job Description

As a Producer for Weekend TODAY, you will be responsible for pitching, developing, writing and editing features.    
Responsibilities:

• Produce original news content, primarily for broadcast, including research, interviews, field producing & shooting, writing & editing scripts, overseeing tape edits, live segment and control room producing
• Responsible for writing anchor copy
• Producer is expected to both pitch story ideas and work on assigned stories developed by the editorial team
• Work with Standards & Legal Team to ensure Editorial Standards of all segments

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of editorial experience working in news production, preferably at the network level with morning television and/or long-format
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Must be able to shoot and edit
• Strong journalistic writing and research skills, as well as editorial judgment
• Must be willing to work Wednesday-Sundays
• Willing to work weekends, overtime, nights, holidays -- often with short notice
• Can be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week

Additional Job Requirements:

• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
