This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.
Job Summary:
This position will report to the Third-Party Executive and will be principally engaged in execution and leadership of the Third-Party Risk (TPRM) Management First Line of Defense. Third-Party Risk Management spans the Americas and this is a key role in the success of the program.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that all Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Policies & Procedures are adhered to in the execution of the program throughout the full TPRM Lifecycle.
  • Design and develop standards and procedures, in support of the TPRM Policy, to guide execution of the TPRM Program.
  • Compliance with applicable rules and guidance impacting the TPRM program including OCC, FBR, FDIC, SEC, FFIEC, FINRA; in addition to other U.S. regulators (e.g., NY Department of Financial Services), and foreign-based regulators (e.g., Japan's Financial Services Agency, Canada's Superintendent of Financial Institutions and those in Latin American).
  • Support the preparation of regulatory deliverables on behalf of management with all relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Key interface with second line of defense (SLOD), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Unit Risk Managers (BURMs) and BU Management.
  • Lead and drive Strategic Planning efforts for First Line of Defense (FLOD) TPRM.
  • Serve as escalation point for Trigger Events and other significant issues TPRM.
  • Lead preparation for, and regularly present TPRM portfolio, risk posture and third-party performance to relevant Risk and Management Committees.
  • Provides input into the TPRM Policy and System enhancements.
  • Enhance TPRM metrics & reporting to provide insight into third party activity and performance for business unit executives and management committees.
  • Provide oversight and management to outsourced TPRM activities - ensuring compliance with expected performance and contractual terms and SLAs.
  • Manage staff development to include training, and leadership opportunities, for growth in position.
  • Ensures that work of the team is of high quality when reviewed & challenged by Second Line of Defense (SLOD) and/or Internal Audit.
  • Provide leadership and development for Third-Party Managers.
  • Allocates Third Party & Engagement workload to optimize productivity & efficiency.
  • Develops/maintains staffing models for Gearing Ratios necessary to support the TPRM Program.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years Third Party Management experience.
  • Broad view of the financial services industry; previous working experience within Capital Markets, Asset Management, Broker Dealer, Finance, Treasury and or risk management
  • Strong knowledge of Operational Risk Management Programs and frameworks including (but not limited to): RCSA, Loss data, Products and Services, Scenario Analysis, KRM/KRI and Issue Management).
  • Significant experience managing complex and dynamic Third-Party relationships.
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies governing financial services and in providing guidance for adherence and monitoring the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical mindset, able to manage risks both at the micro and macro levels.
  • Ability to identify issues and work them to closure, including remediation and escalation where appropriate.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to create effective level appropriate executive presentations.
  • Discretion and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Desire and talent for building and maintaining relationships.
  • A commitment to protect the bank from all risk exposure.
  • Extensive program management experience within process driven environments.
  • Experience working across a diverse set of stakeholders with positive results.
  • Preferred advanced experience with MS Office, Archer, Ariba, and Teams.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $150K - $190K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
