Job Description
Our client company is a leading battery manufacturing company for EVs and part of Global Fortune 500. They are known for producing the worlds safest, fastest charging and longest-lasting batteries. The holding company has an annual revenue of approx. $110 Billion.They are seeking an experienced Korean/English bilingual candidate for the Purchasing Specialist: Procurement planningposition.
1. Procurement planning (including Strategic sourcing)
Responsibilities
Conduct cost analysis for driven gap between plan/target and actual purchase of material cost
Manage claim process of defect product, returnable materials such as wooden boxes, FRP cores
Manage 4M schedule f/up with HQ procurement team
Support all required documentation job for executing projects
Executes risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management, and operation strategies.
Maintain processes, manuals, and work sheets; prepare and participate in audits/certifications
Update and maintain information to include: material description, HTSUS No, duty ratio, origins; manufacturer, agent, and supplier- company/certification/ factory address, material picture, unit price, PO quantity/ amount, packing method, basic quantity per packing unit (pallet, bag, etc.) and basic quantity per delivery method (truck, 20ft container, etc.)
Deep understanding of contracts, contract governance, contractual language, and the contract lifecycle
Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained
Identify opportunities to improve business processes and devise plans to implement these changes
Provide support and advice on new potential businesses opportunities
Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal and financial implications
Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned or expected
Understand business requirements to support organizational goals.
Lead the analysis of a specific commodity data and industry trends or leads an individual supply chain sub- category; reports results to managers.
Conduct industry deep dive analysis to provide proactive insight to sourcing strategies 1-3 years out
Identify common contract risk areas.
Develop and negotiate long term relationships with strategic local vendors, including supplier managed inventory objectives
2. Workforce Management
Lead regular meetings with direct staff and cross functional teams to ensure assignments, objectives, cost savings and deliverables are on target
Demonstrated ability to report to work on a regular and consistent basis; work safely; and follow company policies and procedures
3. Performance Management
Get reports on key procurement/logistics activities/results on a weekly basis
Assign and direct work according to procurement/logistics plan for each team (Procurement, Logistics)
Achieve, monitor, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Confer with other managers or global staff to coordinate activities in related departments
Collect and voice opinions when the revision and/or establishment of new work procedures are needed
4. Operation Management
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Stay up to date on industry trends and supply base
Qualifications:
Extensive experience working in the procurement department in a related field
Bachelors degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field from accredited university
Minimum of 3-year experience with MRP-ERP business systems. Full working knowledge of supply chain systems with implementation experience. Full knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must have outstanding leadership; Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Certified Purchasing Manager, APICS (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) preferred.
(Preferred) Experience in automotive/chemical manufacturing industry
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
