Procurement Analyst

Reports To: Director of Procurement

Location: Hybrid

Environment: Hybrid

Status: Salaried/Hourly

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and hybrid Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Purpose of Your Work:

As Procurement Analystworking within Managed Service (one of our entities),you will be responsible for Rate management and analytics for our procurement team.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:

Rate Management

  • Data Analytics forecasting and Yield Management
  • Predictive Rate Modeling
  • Able to formulate patterns and stories within the data that are transferrable to Powerpoint
  • New RFP results will need to be structured, built and ranked in both MG and OTM operating systems
  • New Rate submissions will need to be analyzed with current market data and negotiated and approved by the customer

RFP Software and Execution

  • Implementation of Procurement Software will need to be trained, managed, and rolled out to the vendor community
  • Managed Vendor Database for procurement events and engagement
  • Create, manage, update, and maintain rate schedules, benchmark rates for new lanes for cost studies
  • Work with the customer and Data Analytics team and Integration Team to create the RFP to the customers’ needs

You’ve Got This

  • At least 2 years of combined experience in carrier Procurement and Logistics/Operations
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access management along with and Data Management execution
  • Mathematics background preferred
  • Data modeling experience and forecasting
  • Strong Powerpoint presenting and composition
  • Data storytelling experience
  • Previous Experience with RFP management and execution
  • Solid Understanding of Tableau Reporting and Data integration
  • KPI Performance Management
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Availability to travel 5-10% of the time
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, working knowledge of Tableau
  • Familiar with any TMS platform (Mercury Gate and Oracle Transportation Management) as well as DAT-TransCore, PC Miler, Rand McNally, Tableau, Python, RFP Software Management, Performance KPI Management
