WORK WEEK SCHEDULE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Google Apps;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
- Ability to work independently and without close supervision;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Three years of clerical/secretarial related experience.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of post-secondary education or training;
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and editing public government board documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the preparation of Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) board documents for the Facilities department by reviewing, editing and managing documents required for each board date.
- Manage Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) data for more than 100 projects in the Capital Building Program and enter contract and minority participation information for formal and informal construction into HUBSCO (Historically Underutilized Businesses/ State Construction Offices) Construction Reporting System in compliance with the reporting requirements as required by North Carolina state law.
- Maintain contact information for MBE vendors; send email notifications about upcoming purchasing and/or contract opportunities as requested by the HUB (Historically Underutilized Businesses) program manager.
- Assist the Supervisor for Information Systems by performing data generation and entry into various spreadsheets and databases in support of the capital building program.
- Serve as a backup to other office staff responsible for data research, data entry, or other processing/secretarial functions.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
