Form of workJob Expectations: The Processing Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling processed orders to ensure timely delivery according to customer needs, company guidelines, and physical time constraints. The Processing Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Job Duties include:
Scheduling and Information Gathering:
• Assign proper machines to complete jobs in the most efficient manner.
• Expediting the movement of paperwork through the office to ensure minimum lead times for all processed work.
• Assist the Operations Manager in making employee evaluations.
• Gather information for efficiency reports as requested by the Operations Manager.
• Perform research on late orders and assist in setting up system shrink lead times and reduce errors.
• Along with the Production Planner, ensure that the proper material is on hand as needed at the downtown facility to complete orders.
• Act as a backup for the Production Planner
Employee Development and Leadership/Productivity:
•Review and analyze employee’s abilities and utilize their strengths to increase productivity and efficiency. This includes meeting the production goals set forth by management.
•Communicate to the staff on areas concerning safety, quality, policies and procedures, and productivity issues.
•Motivate employees to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Lead the employees by using several techniques such as modeling, communication and motivation techniques.
• Analyze and prepare employee reviews to ensure proper feedback is given and to establish a plan with the employee to achieve the companies and employee’s goals and objectives.
•Discipline employees as according to the policies and procedures set forth by the company. Assist in reviewing errors and assist in developing programs to reduce errors.
• Develop and promote teamwork throughout the shift including working with other supervisors and employees in all shifts.
• The supervisor must ensure their employees are competent to perform their position and to assist employees who need improvement by developing a plan to reach their competency. This may include counseling statements and/or warning notices.
• Assist in employment development to ensure the employee meets their goals and objectives.
Quality Control, Training and Packaging:
• Investigate errors as assigned by the Operations Manager by reviewing processing procedures and customer complaints.
• Recommend necessary improvements to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate reference folders including, graphics and pictures, to be located at all equipment in the plant. References to be equipment specific.
• Develop standard packaging methods especially for short cut to length material and flat roll material.
• Communicate with Operations Manager suggested changes for improvement in technology or personnel.
• Communicate with the Operations Manager to maximize employee utilization and stationing on two shifts.
• Coordinate service and repair needs with both NIM maintenance and outside vendors.
Inventory, Locations, and Shipping:
• Assist Operations Manager in making sure drop is scraped or returned to inventory according to current and future NIM policy.
• Manage and maintain consumables inventory
• Assist in communication system with traffic department to ensure that personnel are aware of completed parts and they can be shipped at the earliest possible convenience.
• Assist the Operations Manager in developing programs for all processing employees to achieve continual improvement in areas of team building, motivation, leadership skills, knowledge of product and processes.
• Assist in the hiring and disciplining of personnel.
