Job Description
In this role you are responsible for the successful execution of the processing department’s operations, producing product at the lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest degree of product quality and employee safety.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Directly oversee assigned processing team(s).
- Use labor usage strategies to maximize resources, react to changes in production demands and meet deadlines.
- Communicate to assigned staff all changes in Company policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Ensure equitable treatment of team members.
- Ensure personnel adherence to all Company Standards, Policies and Procedures.
- Actively support and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Actively work with the Human Resources Department in policy and employee development and motivation
- Communicate to Plant Manager any issues that could have a negative impact on the processing department.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify and recommend process improvements to reduce labor and material cost.
- Support and/or define the development of standards for new production processes and products.
- Oversee the preparation of operational schedules and manufacturing activities to ensure that production and quality of products meet specifications.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for labor and waste reduction and metrics for tracking Qualifications.
- Poultry Plant management experience highly preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 1 year management experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence employees.
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
- Ability to generate reports using Microsoft Office and Company Forms Software.
- Experience and Knowledge of regulatory requirements facing a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to use a computer.
