Due to our continued growth, Whitefox is looking for aProcess Engineer, Systems Design to join our Operations team based in the USA (Mid-West). Reporting to the Director of Project Delivery and working closely with the Engineering teams in Calgary & London, this role is key to the successful delivery of Whitefox customer solutions.
The role
This role will see you join the Whitefox USA team, with regular interaction across the teams in Canada and UK. Reporting to the Director of Project Delivery and working closely with System Engineering Manager, this role is key to the successful delivery of Whitefox customer and development projects.
To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled Process Engineer with a high-performance orientation and proven practical experience.
Position Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed engineering design.
- Develop P&IDs.
- Prepare equipment process DS, instrument datasheet, control narrative.
- Perform process calculations: hydraulic calculation, PSV sizing, tank/vessel sizing, etc.
- Perform reviews of vendor documents to ensure specifications and data sheet requirements are met.
- Develop detailed operating procedure.
- Participate process hazard analysis and HAZOP review meeting.
- Analyze plant data and interpret the operation status based on the operation data.
- Optimize our solutions for each customer based on the big-picture overview of the entire plant.
- Ensure plants meets and/or exceeds environmental and safety legislative requirements.
- Troubleshoot operation problems as they arise.
- Participate commissioning and startup when needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring
- Degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering
- 5 years minimum relevant experience in detail engineering design.
- Simulation experience - Symmetry and/or another
- Self starter , solutions-oriented mindset
- Develops and presents work in well-constructed written and verbal presentations. Clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding.
- Communicates effectively with supervisor and members of immediate department including across all departments of organization.
- Works collaboratively across departments and with field team to solve problems.
- Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner.
- Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives.
