Service Process Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer/Service Quality Technician

 

 

Summary

Responsible for developing routine instructions, perform product/process problem solving to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrences on nonconformance, and train operators in proper use of measuring and test equipment procedures. Provides process support and coordinates assigned Quality & Quality Improvement projects and tasks.  The position will partner with cross-functional department teams on Process/Quality Improvement projects with a focus on reducing risks and defects that can impact the customer base. Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial repair and remanufacturing processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, and logistics and material flow.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provides problem solving and quality systems support.  
  • Responsible for maintaining ISO 9001/AAR M-1003 system documents as needed and implementing appropriate changes to processes as required.
  • Investigate and resolve in-process quality issues identified during the manufacturing/assembly process.
  • Supports and compiles data for monthly metrics and reports updates of assigned projects
  • Serves as a support trainer for process and/or quality training programs.
  • Performs daily final inspection on product before it ships.
  • Reviews nonconforming materials and maintains records of these activities.
  • Initiate, monitor and participate in corrective action projects.
  • Perform warranty analysis investigations.
  • Co-prepares summary reports for customers and company records.
  • Gauge repeatability / reproducibility studies, tool and gauge calibrations and source inspections according to established procedures
  • Responsible to evaluate processes and define Critical to Quality features.
  • Implement shop floor level processes to collect and evaluate the CTQ data.
  • Responsible for implementing manufacturing quality metrics for shop floor process.
  • Performs internal auditing and analysis of processes and quality systems.
  • Develop systemic solutions for typical quality processes.
  • Perform measurement systems analysis, assess process capability, development of control plans, FMEA and process yield implementation.
  • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
  • Production process support.
  • Define and purchase equipment and tooling requirements.
  • Support Lean-Kaizen, 5S+, Standard Work.
  • Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Product, Industrial & Quality Engineering.

 

Additional Job Duties:

  • Ability to break down problems, gain understanding, and make effective decisions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and process improvement.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Knowledge and application of strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be personally connected to others on the job, maintain a professional demeanor with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of necessary technology and ability to utilize skills.
  • Knowledge of working with ERP.
  • Ability to be open to change with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • BA/BS degree in (engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-4 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in motor repair facility (EASA preferred)
  • Machinist Experience (optional)

 

Personal Protective Equipment Required (when on the factory floor):

 

  • Eye protection (ANSI approved safety glasses)
  • Steel-toe shoes
  • Hearing (ear) protection (occasionally)

 

 

6am-4pm (on average) Monday-Thursday

Permanent position with full benefits including 401k with up to 6% match

$70,000.00-80,000.00 DOE
