Process Development Engineer

HighT-Tech is actively seeking a talented Catalyst Engineer to join our cutting-edge catalysts manufacturing team. The engineering position uses their technical expertise to develop and improve the catalyst manufacturing process and is a great developmental position for R&D and commercialization. This position works from broad objectives to develop and execute a wide variety of complex process engineering assignments through process develop and R&D projects, supporting the deployment of the manufacturing system, new product development, improvement of the manufacturing process, reliability, product yields, product quality, production rate and production costs. The position assumes a leadership role in many aspects of Process Safety Management.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Becomes a technical expert in the catalyst process and leads and participates in all process engineering activities.

· Provides technical expertise in the design, specification, selection, and operation of equipment along with providing guidance on safe operating limits.

· Ensures all work is done in a safe manner consistent with company, local, state, federal and health, safety and environmental regulations and procedures.

· Establishes and executes manufacturing plans. Takes active ownership of assigned projects to drive and continuously process improvements to operations through day-to-day activities.

· Proposes and executes capital projects for the catalyst plant including development of the individual funding requests and the annual capex budget for submittal.

· Collaborates on technology with R&D personnel including trial development and execution.

· Organizes analytical tests and consults with other specialists outside of the facility to solve operating issues. Provides emergency troubleshooting and operations support.

· Supervise and mentor technicians or other engineers. Contributes effectively toward team goals, exhibits influence within a work group and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.

Qualification Required:

· BS Engineering (CHE preferred)

· 3-5 years’ experience in catalyst manufacturing/chemical plant

· Professional Engineer License preferred but not required

· Experience with mechanical and control system design, project management, and instrumentation

· This position requires an understanding of the plant processes and operations along with utilization of engineering knowledge

· Strong problem solving and organizational skills

· Good communication skills to be able to communicate with all levels of people inside and outside the organization

· Must relate well to others and be capable of effectively leading and influencing multi-disciplinary teams

· Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in parallel

· Ability to learn and stay abreast of industry changes
