Private Chef

We are looking to hire a skilled, creative, and personable Private Chef/”home cook” in Nassau County, New York. The home cooks responsibilities include preparing batches of meals for a couple with two teenage children in their home. (Mainly dinner, sometimes lunch)

• You can cook delicious wholesome meals

• You are creative in coming up with tailored meal plans and menu options for families

• You have a wide repertoire of dishes that you can make while also being flexible to families’ special requests

• You are friendly, personable, and have exceptional communication and customer service skills

Home Cook Responsibilities:

• Preparing customized meal plans for families based on their preferences, specifications, and dietary needs and keeping in mind budget and seasonality

• Preparing associated grocery shopping lists based on the meal plans

• Shopping for groceries ahead of cooking sessions (upon family request)

• Preparing meals in the family's kitchen in accordance with food health and safety regulations

• Cleaning and sanitizing work areas before and after meal preparation

• Packaging, labeling, and storing the food in the fridge or freezer

• Providing families with reheating instructions

• Leaving the kitchen clean

• Receiving feedback from families and making improvements where necessary

Home Cook Requirements:

• Portfolio of family-friendly dishes, including dishes well suited for the postpartum period

• Expert multitasking ability

• Great interpersonal skills

• Passion and pride for delighting people with wholesome, nourishing, and delicious food

• Food Handlers Certificate required

• Willingness to undergo background check upon request

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
