The Alexa AI Information team is looking for a Principal UX Researcher who leads through their work and is comfortable with all stages of the product lifecycle. We are seeking someone who is an expert practitioner with the ability to dive deep into our customers needs while collaborating across multiple teams and programs.
You will help influence and drive critical business decisions, meet regularly with customers and senior leaders, collaborate frequently with designers, product managers and tech to facilitate research that will define the direction of our software experiences.
This role is intended for a research leader who knows how to use the artifacts of research, hard data and deep intuition to create and improve consumer-facing user experiences.
Key job responsibilities
The Principal UX Researcher should posses excellent communication and writing skills as the research insights will directly impact business strategy and design direction. In addition, the Principal UX Researcher will:
- Work in collaboration with leadership to define research roadmaps and programs that improve customer awareness and obsession within the organization.
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research using different methods and techniques based on project goals and timelines
- Uncover and investigate unmet needs while validating new solutions (e.g. interview facilitation, ethnographic skills, journey mapping, design heuristic reviews, persona creation, etc.)
- Use UX Research expertise to help teams design meaningful and usable solutions (e.g. lead ideation sessions, conduct usability studies, a/b testing, card sorts, etc.)
- Collaborate with designers, business strategy, product managers, program managers and engineering
- Present proposals and results in a clear manner backed by data and coupled with actionable conclusions/recommendations
