UCM Community Connect provides independent providers and healthcare organizations with a unified and integrated patient record to support patient care, while leveraging the shared resources and expertise of an experienced Epic organization such as UCM.
Job Summary
The Principal Trainer - (Cadence, Ambulatory and Professional Billing) partners with other trainers and team leads to provide training programs for the hospital entities and users of the electronic health record (EHR) system and other third-party systems. Participates in workflow design and system build in order to gain in-depth knowledge of operational needs and ensure the system design supports those workflows. Identifies changes in workflow and develops curriculum and training plans to support the changes. Plans and develops curriculum in accordance with needs assessments. Pursues new developments in education and training methodologies and implements as deemed appropriate. Promotes a climate for the participant that encourages learning and self-motivation through the application of principles of adult learning. Under the direction of a team lead or application analyst, functions as an ongoing liaison between operational leadership and ITS teams in providing in person consultation and support for end users. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation between a culturally diverse workforce and patient population.
Essential Job Functions
- Create, update and enhance EHR and business system training documentation including manuals, outlines, curricula, training scripts, objectives, handouts, quick reference guides, tests, proficiency assessments, lab scenarios and post-training support materials and evaluations.
- Deliver system training across the organization. Demonstrate flexibility with schedules, training approaches and travel across the organization.
- Collaborate with analysts, trainers, operational leaders and front-line staff in job analysis and the development of training content, job aids and competency assessments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of schedules, registrations, and transcripts in Learning Management System (LMS).
- Builds and maintains training environments for the EHR and other third-party systems.
- Manage training work queue for training issues to ensure prompt resolution of reported issues and service requests.
- Participates in projects and end user walkabout support for EHR users and other systems.
- Plan and develop visionary curricula for their end users; be forward thinking for approaches to adult education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge and previous application of adult learning principles
- Demonstrated leadership skills evidenced
- Demonstrates complex decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Previous experience as an educator
- Previous experience using an electronic medical record (EMR)
- Knowledge and previous use of computer-based training (CBT) modules
- Knowledge in specialty area
- Epic certifications
