We are recruiting a Principal Scientist to join the Cell Line Development helping to advance our Company’s biologics pipeline portfolio. The individual will play a critical role in the delivery of biologics pipeline using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art platform technologies and fit-for-use methodology. Candidate should demonstrate and stay up to date on the knowledge of principles and theories related to protein engineering and expression technologies. Candidate should be knowledgeable and experienced in end-to-end Cell Line Development, cell banking, process development and IND/BLA filing to provide a line of sight of manufacturing, scale-up, and commercialization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate should have strong knowledge related to commercial Chinese Hamster Ovaries Cell Line Development. Candidate must have deep subject matter expertise in Cell Line Development and broad experience in biologic drug development. The candidate must have direct experience with molecular techniques and mammalian culture. The candidate should demonstrate and stay up to date on the knowledge in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and genome editing technologies.

  • Collaborates effectively with process development, Discovery, Enabling Technologies, Analytical R&D, Quality, and other of our Company's partner groups to provide innovative and practical solutions to ensure successful drug substance deliveries under tight timelines.

  • Primary duties will include developing and characterizing stable mammalian Cell Line suitable for biomanufacturing.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in Cell Line Development and technical lead to represent functional area for biologics pipeline programs.

  • Complete and effectively manage multiple projects within timelines ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to high scientific and ethical standards.

  • Responsible for technical reports and relevant sessions of Investigational New Drug (IND) and BLA filings

  • Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and external/internal presentations are expected.

Minimum Education required:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or related Biological Sciences with 5 + years of Cell Line Development or related experience

Experience | Skills | Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge and record of scientific skills in vector optimization and/or CHO host cell engineering

  • Must have a strong track record of delivering results via innovation and fearless problem-solving.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiating, influencing, and collaboration skills.

  • demonstrated technical/scientific excellence through publications/presentations.

  • Experienced in project managing and ensure timely communication between CLD and other functional areas within CMC Team

  • Experienced in IND/BLA filing and preparing relevant documentation.

  • Effective verbal and written communication

Preferred experience and skills:

  • Experienced in next generation sequencing (NGS), System Biology (e.g. transcriptomics, proteomics)

  • Experienced in flow cytometry.

  • Familiarity with development of computational tools in biology that use genomic data to generate biological hypothesis.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$149,400.00 - $235,100.00
