REPORTS TO: Building Principal
Pay Range: $15.49-$17.80
FLSA Status: Non - Exempt
Summary: Provides Assistance to the Principal with the management of the school by providing secretarial/ clerical office support including translation services to parents, faculty, staff and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: other duties may be assigned by the Principal.
  1. Composes or transcribes from rough draft, correspondence, bulletins, memorandum and other material.
  2. Compile and fill students' grades and attendance reports and other school records.
  3. Greet Visitors to school; determine nature of business and guide visitors to destination.
  4. Speak with students encountering problems and resolve problems or direct students to appropriate help.
  5. Answer telephones to provide information, take messages or transfer calls.
  6. Keep records of supplies ordered and dispense supplies to staff.
  7. Maintain calendar of school events
  8. Keep monthly records of staff attendance and submit information to Attendance Secretary.
  9. Prepare and submit purchase orders in a timely manner through Infinite Vision.
  10. Complete Illinois State Board of Education reports (fall housing, etc.)
  11. Prepare and update student roster in PowerSchool with (Student name, address, phone number, guardian's name) on a monthly basis.
  12. Complete all transfers and forwarding of records for all students transferring out of the District. Submit quarterly reports and transfers.
  13. Maintain Principal Calendar
  14. Possess all current information as it relates to student registration forms needed as well as fees.
  15. Assists with First Aid, Emergency telephoning and filling out appropriate forms.
  16. Monitors tardiness and absences of students with phone calls and record keeping.
  17. Must be able documents in Microsoft Word& Excel..

Education and/ or Experience: Must have a High School Diploma or GED and must be willing to further education to obtain certificates and or college degree. Previous experience in a school setting is optional.
Language Skills: Must be able to apply understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
Mathematical Skills: Must have mathematical skills and/or ability to compute rate, ratios, and percentages and interpret graphs.
Typing Skills: Must be able to type at minimum 40 words per minute
Technology Skills: Computer Proficient

Terms of Employment: 11 months (beginning August 1stand ending June 30th) Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 60 minute duty free lunch.
Benefits: Specified by Contractual Agreement under Collective Bargaining Agreement
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated on probationary terms and annual terms in accordance with the provisions of the Boards policy on the evaluation of Educational Support Staff.
