Principal PD Project Management Specialist - Acute Care & Monitoring
Location: Boulder, CO

A Day in the Life
  • Manages New Product Development project initiatives of various size and complexity through our internal product development and governance processes.
  • Leads cross-functional team members in the development and execution of the integrated project plan. Closely monitors the schedule to ensure key milestones and goals are achieved.
  • Coordinates core-team meetings, ensuring team collaboration and alignment. Plays an instrumental role in handling team conflict, driving issues to resolution. Also ensures that all team member voices are heard, encouraging a diversity of opinions and thoughts.
  • Manages project risks, including development of risk mitigation plans and tracking risk reduction.
  • Develops and monitors project resource plans and budgets, including coordination of the Capital Request through the approval process. Ensures latest estimates and spend variance summaries are generated monthly.
  • Prepares and presents project status updates at monthly portfolio review meetings and at specified PDT stage gates. Coordinates inputs from the cross-functional team and assembles the final presentation.
  • Manages stakeholder relationships, ensuring key project information is communicated in a timely manner including project issues and risks.
  • Ensures all project deliverables are completed at the appropriate product development stage. Supports internal and external compliance audits related to their assigned projects.
  • Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between Project Management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project's key stakeholders.
  • Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with 7+ years of engineering or Project Management experience

OR

  • An advanced degree with 5+ years of engineering or Project Management experience

  • Possess managerial courage; must be confident managing risks and making decisions that will likely have a large impact on strategic organizational objectives. Works independently; self-directed and highly self-aware. 
  • Able to establish trust and credibility throughout senior leadership; demonstrates integrity and accountability.
  • Experience leading teams comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds; including but not limited to R&D, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Clinical, Sourcing and Marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and non-verbal; expert active listening skills with a keen awareness for various messaging styles; and polished ability to tailor delivery to a broad range of audiences.
  • Exceptional influencing and interpersonal skills, negotiating; managing change; goal setting; planning and organizing teamwork; ability to address difficult situations; conflict resolution; resource constraint and problem solving. Strong written communication skills.
  • Technically savvy; must be able to discuss, understand and make decisions regarding a wide array of engineering disciplines and complex technical/logistical issues.
  • Skilled in using the tools and techniques of Project Management.
  • Experience managing new product development initiatives, in highly regulated industries.
  • PMP Certification, Lean Leader/Six Sigma Certification

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
