Overview

ECG is a national management consulting firm working exclusively in the healthcare industry. At ECG, our primary emphasis is on quality—in our people as well as our services—and we’re seeking others who appreciate our high standards of excellence.

What’s in It for You: Consult with Purpose

At ECG, you can have a bigger impact than you ever imagined. The work you do will help health systems deliver care more effectively and efficiently—and that’s just the beginning. We’re looking for innovators, problem-solvers, and self-starters to collaborate across our five divisions, take on challenging projects, and find new ways to improve patient care. ECG is committed to ensuring a friendly work environment that rewards high performance and welcomes, values, and supports all people.

Join Our M&A Service Area

Our M&A team serves as an adviser to hospitals, health systems, health plans, and physician groups in the evaluation, development, and execution of all forms of strategic partnership transactions on a national basis. Our team’s expertise includes sell-side M&A advisory services, buy-side M&A advisory services, facilitated M&A advisory services, joint venture/joint operating agreement development advisory services, valuations, and fairness opinions. We work closely with clients to:

  • Define their organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop a customized transaction execution strategy and approach.
  • Identify the universe of potential partners/suiter organizations.
  • Lead the entirety of M&A execution work streams and process deliverables development.
  • Structure and negotiate transactional agreements.
  • Provide valuation opinions and related financial modeling/analytical support.
  • Perform comprehensive transaction due diligence.
  • Support restructuring and/or post-merger integration efforts.

ECG is a leading M&A adviser to:

  • Healthcare organizations seeking health system partners (sell-side advisory services).
  • Health systems seeking growth through partnerships with hospitals and/or physician groups (buy-side advisory services).
  • Facilitate partnerships among and between health systems and/or physician groups.

Your Opportunity with ECG: Principal

As a principal at ECG, you’ll be a critical member of our consulting team. Not only will you partner with some of the industry’s best, but you will also make a real difference in people’s lives and grow personally and professionally while doing so. Here, no two days or projects are alike, which means you’ll have a lot to learn and plenty of support to help you succeed.

Being a principal at ECG is a significant leadership position within the firm, a stepping-stone to the role of partner, and an opportunity to own equity in the firm. A principal has already emerged as an industry thought leader capable of managing and selling complex engagements with superior client relationship-management skills.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

  • Actively managing a portfolio of client engagements and consulting staff assuring all contractual targets and deliverables are met.
  • Working with the client to articulate complex issues requiring attention and strategizing with consultant teams on project approach.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert providing technical support and M&A project oversight for all stages of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, including financial modeling, market research, valuation analysis, development of offering memorandums, buyers list, and management presentations.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and implementation of solutions to drive long-lasting success for the client.
  • Managing a high-performing cadre of professionals and building and developing a team of consulting leaders to sustain lasting relationships in the industry.
  • Collaborating in the continued growth and development of the M&A practice.
  • Marketing and selling $1.5M in annual consulting revenue.
  • Playing an integral role in the recruitment and development of staff consultants.
  • Serving as a thought leader on a national stage.
  • Being a leader in the firm and contributing to the firm’s culture and success.
  • Participating in firm and M&A practice management.

Our Expectations of You

  • Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a growing elite level consulting firm
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for the provider healthcare sector
  • Progressive leadership experience in management consulting or investment banking leading M&A transactions for hospitals or health systems.
  • Experience in strategy development in the provider environment

  • Track record of managing multiple engagements, including work plans, deliverables, budgets and schedules, and accounts receivable
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in selling and managing engagements
  • Viewed as a thought leader through marketing activities such as networking with potential clients, participating in professional societies, and publishing and presenting thought leadership (whitepapers, speeches, and articles)
  • Demonstrated focus on staff development, coaching, and retention, with a refined ability to provide constructive and timely feedback
  • Master’s degree in business administration and/or a health-related field; bachelor’s degree in business or a health-related field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Ability to travel at least 60% of the time
