NV5 is seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Investigator to join our team as a key member of our Cultural Resources management division. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while leading and shaping the growth of our Cultural Resources team. 

In this role, the Principal Investigator will be entrusted with overseeing and conducting critical archaeological investigations, historic preservation assessments, and cultural resources management projects.   • Oversee cultural resources projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for project execution and team growth.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members. 
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant cultural resources laws, regulations, and standards. 
  • Conduct archaeological surveys, site testing, and excavations in accordance with established protocols and industry standards. 
  • Supervise field crews and provide technical expertise during fieldwork activities. 
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate cultural resources reports, including site documentation, analysis, and recommendations. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on cultural resources matters, communicating project updates, findings, and recommendations effectively. 
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, including budget estimates and technical approaches, for cultural resources projects. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of developing and managing project budgets effectively. 
  • Stay informed about advancements in cultural resources management, archaeology, and related fields. 
  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills. 

  • Master's or Ph.D. in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field.
  • RPA certification. 
  • Over 15 years of experience in cultural resources management, with a focus on archaeological investigations. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, including budgeting and scheduling. 
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for data analysis and report preparation. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Familiarity with the cultural resources regulatory environment in the region.
