Position Summary
The Principal Program Manager is responsible for managing & supporting Electric Distribution Emergency/Restoration program. The ideal candidate will monitor financial and work performance, provide technical direction, optimizing system spending and resource allocation, ensure the program is following compliance regulations and work with peer organizations to support system process improvements and investment strategy.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
• Min $140,000.00
• Mid $189,000.00
• Max $238,000.00
Job Responsibilities
• Manage capital and expense spending to ensure work identified in the plan is completed, compliant with all regulations and unit cost targets are achieved.
• Assist in the development of annual unit cost targets, and monthly variance explanations.
• Perform trend analysis to identify cost drivers and develop and execute mitigation plans to improve business results. Receives limited guidance from senior manager on complex issues.
• Represent the ER Program as a subject matter expert and stakeholder on process improvement teams, regulatory filings, and various stakeholder groups.
• Support the Emergency Recovery GRC and CEMA witness with testimony development and data request response support.
• Applies advanced knowledge of Program Management to moderate to complex assignments and established programs. Works independently on most issues. May participate in the development of new programs.
• Prepares and presents program budget recommendation to leaders with some guidance from senior manager. Reviews and prepares monthly budget variance explanations.
• Administers identified program work or projects. Tracks activity and completions. Prepares reports and status updates and presents to senior manager and/or key program stakeholders.
• Develops recommendations for improvements to tools and processes for the program. Identifies, develops and participates in or may lead the implementation of best practices to improve customer service, productivity and reduce operation costs.
• Works collaboratively with peers and partner organizations and divisions to develop and implement new or improved processes, controls and procedures to improve program compliance, efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
• Develops communication and training for assigned programs. Ensures target audience is fully educated in the purpose of the program and the proper processes and requirements to follow.
• Act in a Governance role for stakeholder and business communications related to regulatory compliance and financial performance.
• Analyze end-to-end, complex business processes and coordinate with IT to develop and implement solutions to information needs. Advises on the impact(s) of technical changes to cross-functional processes.
• Anticipate user concerns and questions, and provide proactive, timely and professional communications or delegate as appropriate.
• Identify, propose and influence solutions and define & document business requirements to complex business problems.
• Leads necessary training, change management and communications associated with process improvement implementations.
• Provide expert consulting in business and user needs. Understands current and future business environment; in detail, to effectively anticipate, identify and fully meet the business needs.
• Provides a key contribution to business cases for complex and cross functional projects and initiatives. Develop supporting materials to justify investment.
• Strategic Data Analysis: Understanding of SAP workflow management, including notification and task relationships, SOX reporting, settlement rule requirements and financial closure requirements
• End to End order management understanding, from order creation & related requirements, as well as order close and necessary steps to successfully and completely close orders in system of record.
• Fulfill ad-hoc requests for metrics for workstream execution and inter-departmental related data analyses
• Provides mentorship and guidance to less experienced employees.
• Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance with the program.
• May require 25-35% of travel to headquarter and other base sites.
Qualifications
Minimum:
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
• Job-related experience, 10 years
