PRINCIPAL BUSINESS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ANALYST - LSS BLACK BELT - NORTHRIDGE, CA

In this exciting role as a Principal Business Process Improvement Analyst - LSS Black Belt, you will have responsibility to develop, advocate and enable the tools and methodologies to drive Medtronic process excellence throughout the Northridge Diabetes manufacturing facility. These tools may include, but are not limited to, Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management and other Improvement techniques. Leads and mentors Lean Sigma teams/ projects across Medtronic. Plans, supports, and provides training to others in the Lean Sigma methodology.

A Day in the Life 

Problems and issues faced are difficult, moderately complex and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation .You will develop solutions to moderately complex problems, and/or make moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance of job area.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Plan, perform and implement Process Improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma).
  • Diagram and evaluate existing processes.
  • Organize, lead and facilitate cross-functional project teams.
  • Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Collect data to identify root cause of problems.
  • Measure performance against process requirements.
  • Align improvement to performance shortfalls.
  • Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control.
  • Survey and analyze best practices for techniques and processes.
  • Communicate team progress.
  • Perform cost and benefit analysis.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant Business Process Analysis / Project Management experience within Supply Chain Manufacturing as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt leading DMAIC Projects and Kaizen Events, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant Business Process Analysis / Project Management experience within Supply Chain Manufacturing as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt leading DMAIC Projects and Kaizen Events.
  • Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience and a broad knowledge of project management.

Nice to Have

  • Strong Financial Acumen.
  • Master of Science / Advanced Degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP - PMI).
  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience.
  • DMAIC Lean / Six Sigma Certification and demonstrated experience leading DMAIC Projects (4 or more).
  • Demonstrated experience leading Kaizen Events (10 or more).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of employees.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
