You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. This role can be remote or the employee can choose to work on site in Eden prairie, MN.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complex Problem-Solving and Strategy Development: A digital enterprise architect should have the goal of mastering complex problem-solving skills, aiming to clearly define business challenges by gathering detailed information and developing strategies that align with customer needs and the company's product roadmap. They should seek to understand the root causes of issues and apply this knowledge to improve systems and processes
  • Healthcare Industry Expertise: They should continuously deepen their understanding of the healthcare industry, regulatory environment, and relevant technology applications. By doing so, they can mentor junior architects, bridge communication gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholders, and effectively contribute to the discovery and analysis of solutions
  • Architectural Practice Excellence: Architects should focus on facilitating strategic planning and transformation within their product capabilities, adhering to architectural standards, and advancing the company's architecture towards its target state. They should also be agile in their approach, readily adapting to changing requirements and ensuring quality through the consistent application of patterns and procedures
  • Technological Leadership and Innovation: The goal should be to maintain an expert-level understanding of the technology stack, user-centered design principles, and deployment patterns, with an emphasis on modernization and cost reduction. They should also be accountable for the security, performance, scalability, and reliability of solutions while staying current with emerging technologies to identify and apply innovations effectively
  • Influence and Leadership: A digital enterprise architect should aim to have a significant influence on the architecture and design patterns within the organization, mentoring junior team members, leading by example, and effectively communicating with stakeholders. They should be responsible for architecting solutions for substantial strategies and product capabilities, driving continuous improvement, and fostering an engineering culture within their teams

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in the technology sector, with a demonstrated history of progression and impact in various technical capacities
  • 6+ years of experience specifically in the implementation and integration of technology solutions, with a requirement that this experience spans across multiple disciplines such as data engineering, cloud solutions, system integration, solution design, development/configuration, and deployment
  • 4+ years of experience in senior technical roles, such as an enterprise architect or senior engineer, with a proven record of contributing to the architecture and design of enterprise-level services and systems
  • 4+ years of experience of involvement in supporting and enhancing enterprise services with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences to consumers, underpinned by a solid understanding and application of non-functional requirements such as security, scalability, and performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in addressing complex business challenges through solutions that integrate multiple domains and technologies, with an expectation of proficiency in leading solution design, architectural frameworks, and delivery planning in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex solutions and architectural patterns to a diverse set of team members, including senior leadership and cross-regional teams, utilizing industry-standard patterns, practices, and emerging technologies such as streaming and containerization

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
