Our vision is to be THE premiere early learning solution in our area, and bridge the education gap between our community and children born to more affluent zip codes. We do this through creative learning, ongoing staff development, and emphasis on character development, parental involvement, and nutritious meals. We take education and building life skills seriously. We are so excited about moving to our new, larger facility and are now pre-enrolling for infants, toddlers, early preschool, preschool, after school.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Be enthusiastic about working with children and believe you are here to make a difference in their lives!
* We use Frogstreet curriculum. Must be able to work with lesson plans and follow a class schedule.
* Must be physically able to perform the job of a Preschool Teacher.
* Must have a warm, supportive attitude toward children. Must be reliable. Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program.
* Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance. Must be willing to perform other duties as required.
* Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program.
* Utilize the computer to check email, obtain resources from the Internet, prepare lesson plans, assist children in navigating online learning platforms, and other technology needs as required to perform job functions and introduce children to a technology in the classroom.
* Ensure equipment and the classroom is clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
* Observe and monitor children’s play activities.
* Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
* Maintain records and documentation of child developmental progress.
* Provide weekly schedules of activities.
* Develop culturally appropriate lessons and activities.
* Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts.
* Be familiar with emergency procedures, signs of child abuse, and how t report suspected child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
* Instruct children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
* Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
* Engage in ongoing staff development to improve personal and professional skills.
* Select the appropriate teaching method and adapt to children's learning styles.
* Effectively communicate with children and parents.
* Promote the center’s philosophy and educational objectives.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
* Experience working in a child care environment preferred, but not required.
* Experience performing basic computer functions preferred.
EDUCATION
* Highschool diploma or GED equivalency required.
* Childcare Development Associate (CDA) strongly preferred, but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
