Prep/Line Cook
Salary Range: USD $17.00-$20.00/hr
Job Summary
SIE Culinary Management is seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Prep/Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Prep/Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the preparation of ingredients, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and contribute to the overall success of our culinary endeavors.
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and a passion for food.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Culinary school education or relevant certifications are a plus.
Job Duties
Food Preparation
Execute accurate and timely preparation of ingredients according to established recipes and guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
Knife Skills
Demonstrate exceptional knife skills to efficiently and safely chop, slice, dice, and julienne various ingredients.
Organization
Maintain a well-organized and clean workspace, including proper storage of ingredients and adherence to sanitation standards.
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure a seamless flow of operations, assisting as needed in different stations during peak times.
Adherence to Recipes
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines precisely to maintain the highest standards of taste and presentation.
Quality Control
Monitor and report any issues with food quality or equipment to the Head Chef or Sous Chef promptly.
Inventory Management
Assist in the management of inventory by keeping track of stock levels, rotating perishable items, and notifying the appropriate personnel when supplies need replenishing.
Sanitation and Safety
Adhere to strict sanitation and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures.
Time Management
Efficiently manage time to meet deadlines and ensure timely delivery of prepared ingredients for various menu items.
Flexibility
Be adaptable and willing to take on various tasks as needed, including supporting other kitchen staff during busy periods.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold for kitchen appliances.
Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and typing.
Physical effort/lifting is medium - up to 50 pounds up to heavy - over 50 pounds.
