Full-time Prep/Line Cook – The Harvest Café at Kitchen Kettle Village
$17 to $20 per hour
KITCHEN KETTLE VILLAGE is actively seeking an energetic, positive, and self-motivated FULL-TIME PREP/LINE COOK at the Harvest Café. As a Prep/Line Cook, you will make a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees from scratch with fresh ingredients. They uphold all health codes and restaurant standards for sanitation and food safety. This position is perfect for an experienced cook who wants better hours to balance work/life, or someone looking to expand their skills and experience in the culinary field.
An ideal candidate should have previous kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment, know basic cooking methods, be able to read and follow a recipe, be an excellent team worker, and have proficient written and verbal skills. ServSafe certification preferred.
This is a full-time position, approximately 32-40 hours per week. Fridays and Saturdays are considered priority working days.
SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Cook and prepare a variety of food products, meats, vegetables, poultry, sauces, soups, desserts, and other delicious food items.
- Understand and abide by the company’s cooking methods: kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Record HACCP log daily.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation.
- Receive and check daily deliveries and accurately put away in proper location.
- Comply with company portion and qualify standards.
- Must be able to work Saturdays and holidays as needed (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas).
- Willing to assist in other food service/production areas.
VIABLE CANDIDATE SKILLS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Experience in the hospitality industry with a solid understanding of procedures and best practices.
- Hands-on experience in customer service or sales.
- Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
