- To follow all specifications to safely and properly prepare vegetables for cooking and serving, including washing, peeling, paring, and chopping.
- To follow all specifications and recipes in the preparation of food items for restaurants, employee meals, banquets, room service, and special functions.
- To retrieve needed stores from Purchasing, as directed.
- To assist Line Cooks, other Kitchen Staff and supervisors, as directed.
- To assist, as directed, to serve banquets and special functions, and to prepare special menu items.
- To follow all company policies and procedures.
- To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others.
- To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
- Prior experience as a Prep Cook (with breakfast menu items preferred)
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
- Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operation helpful.
- Must have thorough knowledge of proper use and storage of all relevant kitchen tools and equipment.
- Must be organized, efficient and meet high quality standards for service.
- Able to accept direction and constructive criticism in a high stress environment.
- Good team player.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Able to work productively with little supervision.
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends and/or Holidays.
- Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over short to moderate distances.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Pushes, pulls, bends and lifts to perform routine job tasks.
