Preoperative Assessment Nurse

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough pre-operative assessments via phone for patients scheduled for ambulatory surgery. The successful candidate will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient evaluations. Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of pre-operative protocols are essential. • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments via phone interviews with patients.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to gather necessary information for surgical readiness.
• Assess and identify potential risks or complications that may affect the surgical process.
• Provide clear and concise pre-operative instructions to patients, addressing patient questions and concerns.
• Document assessments accurately in electronic health records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Evolve in your role when performing supplemental responsibilities as assigned

• Current NYS Registered Nurse license in NYS. must reside in WNY
• Proven experience (3+ years) Nursing experience
• Proficient in using electronic health records and other relevant healthcare technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Knowledge of ambulatory surgery center procedures and protocols.
• BLS, Basic Life Support Certification
• Experience with telehealth or remove nursing assessments preferred.
• Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center with a clinical background in Preoperative Nursing or Medical Surgical Nursing preferred.
