Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers Ceded Reinsurance team is critical to reduce risk and ensure enterprise growth. As a Premium Consultant, Ceded Reinsurance Accounting, you are a key contact for the review, analysis, system capture and administration of premium for reinsurance contracts. You will leverage your relationship building and technical expertise to provide excellent service to internal and external partners.
What Will You Do?
  • Review and interpret Reinsurance documents to be established and populated into the contract system.
  • Calculate, analyze, and record proper ceded financial results within company guidelines.
  • Monitor premium payables to ensure timely payments are being made.
  • Assist internal Finance partners to ensure proper reporting of the ceded premium financials.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and complete reconciliations relating to assigned ceded premium (bookings, payables and accruals).
  • Develop and review materials to participate in various Reinsurer activities such as commutations, insolvencies, audits, etc.
  • Provide technical expertise as appropriate and make recommendations on possible solutions to moderate problems.
  • Make recommendations on system, procedure and/or workflow enhancements to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operation.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of insurance business or reinsurance.
  • Working knowledge of accounting theory and practice.
  • Working towards professional designation (MBA, CPA, ARe, CPCU).
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult on projects and present information effectively.
  • Excellent relationships building skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with business partners.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and provide insights and recommendations to business partners.
  • Ability to think strategically and use judgement to resolve issues as they arise.
What is a Must Have?
  • Three years of related work experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
