JOB TITLE: Practice Manager
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Clerical Operations Manager
PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Supports administrative or technical operation by performing various duties requiring organization systems and procedures. Performs data compilation, analysis, review, and administrative tasks that support the operation of the organization. Supports multiple and concurrent activities, provides guidance to project management, analyzes and interprets reporting requirements, and establishes controls to measure compliance. Maintains a working knowledge of organization, training methods, and audit methodologies. Coordinates with management, patients, and other organization groups to assist in resolving technical and administrative issues.
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY: Performs routine duties independently, setting priorities and scheduling own work in accordance with established and general policies and procedures requiring regular interpretation. Is responsible for sound judgment, thoroughness and competence, where failure to perform effectively and efficiently could have a serious impact on municipal operations, public relations, and the efficient use of resources.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most of the work is performed in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions and with the need to deal with a great diversity of people. Some of the work may be performed at any of the satellite offices. Some of the work may be performed at meeting rooms in the community, or elsewhere with some occasional need to pick up or deliver items in the community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Successfully manage the team and daily operations • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members • Provide support and guidance for staff through hands-on training • Ability to master front office duties and work alongside team members when needed • Create a positive environment for both patients and the team • Facilitate and maintain standardization of policies and procedures • Lead your team, alongside the doctor, to achieve practice goals • Oversee budgets as required by management • Work directly with the Clinical Operations Manager and Leadership Team regarding any staffing or operational concerns • Assisting to ensure office remains OSHA and HIPAA compliant • Effectively manage difficult patient encounters
QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES: • High School Diploma/C.E. is expected • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer centric environment • Excellent communication and leadership skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment • Prior experience working in a dental or medical office in a leadership role
Physical Requirements: • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily • Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods • Prolonged periods of time working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times
